This month has been as slow as it has been quick. The days seem to go by slowly although I cannot believe that it is so far into the Summer already. It has been slightly uneventful but only compared to the last few months that I've had. I have been spending my days enjoying the sunlight, reading books like Roxane Gay's "Bad Feminist" and J.K Rowling's "The Casual Vacancy", practicing guitar and learning new chords, and writing on a new blog. When I have time I've been trying to hike as much as I can. It's been nice to try and focus on other things. Being able to spend time outside is wonderful and a luxury that I will never take for granted. This month, I got a new job and don't start until next month; I have to admit that I am slightly nervous but very excited for something new. Wyoming is so beautiful during the Summer that I almost can forget all it's flaws. That's all for now! Here are some photographs that I took venturing around town (tthis month. Stay tuned for next month because I'll be in New York City and California!

Well, it's about fall once again. This time of year is nice because it's hot once day and then cool and rainy the next day, but I'm also not excited for the winter and you can feel it in the air. I have been busy with the first few weeks of school, I'm realizing how fast this semester is going to be. This month I have been shooting some self portraits and developing all my rolls of film from this summer and adventuring around to enjoy the last nice weather of the year. September's Photo of the Month is a digital photograph that I took while on an evening nature adventure to Casper Mountain. I have been happy that it has been so warm out and I've had just a bit longer to go up on the mountain before it snows again, yes, it has already snowed once this month. But even more strange, it's been in the upper 80's ever since! Wyoming weather.. The trees have started to change and there were some really beautiful colors. I do wish that we had more of a fall here, usually it goes straight from hot weather to snow. I really see this as the last time of year to get photos before I don't have much else to take photos of the rest of the year. I hope everyone is having a nice beginning to their Autumn! Here are some more photos I took this month!
At the end of June I took a three hour trip from my home town to visit the Snowy Range in the Medicine Bow National Forest. All my years in Wyoming and there are so many places that I haven't been! This was one of them and I was so excited to go. Although it was a bit more snowy than I would have liked, everything about Snowy Range is absolutely breath taking. Actually, there was way too much snow, we didn't get to do all the trails and see all the lakes that we wanted because the roads were still blocked off by huge drifts of snow! In June! I guess I shouldn't be surprised since Snowy Range is at it's lowest, 10,000 ft and in an Alpine climate. A friend and I visited Mirror Lake and walked over many banks of snow to the other side of Lake Marie. They were both just absolutely gorgeous. I have never seen anything like it in Wyoming before. They had tall and grey mountains, clear and calm lakes surrounded by pine trees and white stones. We wanted to see some other lakes and do some trails, but they were blocked. We did climb over some large drifts on a hillside to see a waterfall that we wanted to see badly! It was a fun and beautiful day, even the drive through the forest is wonderful, you can see the whole forest from the road! As soon as it warms up there a little more, I'm headed back for even more landscapes! Just a heads up, I will be in California for the rest of this month so the Photo of the Month for July is going to be a little late!
Hey guys! This is my Photo of the Month for June!
I thought that I would post some photos that kind of show what I have been up to lately. Of course it is summer, and school is out so besides work, there is so much that I can do! I have so much more time for myself, taking photos, reading, playing tennis, and so much hiking! I'm a huge hiking fan, it is a good work out, you get to be outside and hopefully be in a beautiful spot. Near town we have a beautiful mountain area that has a couple of nice trails and hidden places, you don't get to see much in the winter in Wyoming so it's nice to be able to see everything alive for once. Also about thirty miles out of town we have a lake that is a much different environment from in town, it's a pretty well visited spot in the summer from us from Casper. Here are a few photos from a couple of hikes that I have taken on my days off this summer! What do you think of my nature shots? Do you prefer to do outdoor activities in the summer? Comment below! |
Welcome!
Each month I will be posting a Photo of the Month! Also I'll try to work in any requested posts or things I find interesting to post! Enjoy! Archives
