Here is my photo of the month for May! I took this photo when in Denver at the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver of my boyfriend looking over the street. We went and picked him up from the airport that day and spent the day downtown! I also took this photo on the left of my best friend, tired after a long drive and adventure in the city. I usually love May. May is the month that it finally stops snowing and the freezing cold wind ceases in Wyoming. It's finally the time of year when we get some rain and sun! It's so perfect to have some green in the hills, leaves growing on the trees, birds singing and I'm so in love with the warm sun. College is out and it's exciting to get a start into Summer with less responsibilities and more traveling! And more working too, but that's okay as long as I get to sleep in! This month I got to have my film photos in the gallery at school and got into the school magazine. Also, I figured out that I only have one semester left until I graduate with my Associates Degree. It has been a good month for me and I hope it has been for everyone else! I have been shooting a variety of things, especially outside. Living in Wyoming means there isn't much to shoot between the months of October until May so all I end up shooting when it gets nice out is flowers and plants and the sky and the nature in Wyoming that I don't get to enjoy in the many months of Winter. I enjoy going on runs and hikes as soon as it's nice enough. And of course I went to Denver as soon as school was out and my friends and I had a great time! I took some photos of my friends while I was there. I hope to have a gallery in my Digital Photography Gallery of Wyoming photos this Summer since I don't have a specific album of where I live yet! It seems that I've been shooting quite a bit of black and white lately! What do you enjoy shooting in Spring?

I thought that I would post a bit about what I did in Seattle and what I enjoyed photographing while I was there! Seattle was great. I had never been to Washington or anywhere on the West Coast above California so I was excited to see what it was like. Surprisingly, the whole time I was there it was sunny and pretty warm. All of us Wyoming kids were really amazed at how green everything was and all these flowers were in bloom on the trees, it was gorgeous. We rode the light rail into town and went to the Space Needle the first day, it was amazing! The view is so spectacular and riding a train is so fun when you never get to. I enjoyed shooting stuff in the stations underground, there are so many lines and shapes. I went back up in the Space Needle in the evening to get some photos of the city while the sun was going down, which I am glad that I did, I got some great shots of the city from above with some nice light on it. Throughout the week we went to Pike Place Market multiple times because it's so cool, we could spend all day there. All the fruit they let you try is so good and the levels of shops were so interesting and cool. There is so much to photograph there. Tons of colorful fruit, flowers and signs for things. I spent alot of time shooting the little things in the market, just the atmosphere there is relaxing and nice. I spent a good amount of time downtown too! I really enjoy the city and all the things going on. I spent some time shooting the buildings and gorgeous streets that they have. We also went to the Waterfront and Pioneer Square which were both very cool. The Waterfront is nice because it's like you are by the ocean and there are tons of boats and birds. Pioneer Square has very lovely old buildings and it's nice to know about the history of it! Here are some photos that I got while I was there and if you want to see more they are all on my Flickr and in my Digital Photography Gallery right here on my website! Wow! Picking a Photo of the Month for this month was tough! Of course I had to pick one of the shots I took in Seattle this past week. I took a hundred photos that I love so I hope you go see the rest I took! If you want to see more of my Seattle photos they will be up on my Digital Photography Gallery, on my Flickr and on my Tumblr. There is so many things to photograph in Seattle which is half of the reason that I went on the trip. I was on the go the whole time I was there and it was so fun! I took so may pictures and experienced the town, I had never been to Washington before and it was exciting. The whole time I was there it was sunny, everything was so green and lovely. We don't get alot of green in Wyoming so I enjoyed that alot. I took this photo at the top of the Space Needle right when the sun was going down. The photo to the right I took two days later while sitting at the park. I'll be making a separate post next week about my entire trip so stay tuned! Check out all my Seattle photos in my Digital Photography Gallery and tell me what photo you liked best! |
